Spot on (as usual). Most employers are out of touch with the downstream employees. However, being in touch with everyone in the organization can be difficult, depending on size. Each Manager needs to be deeply in tune with their direct reports, and perhaps their chosen successor (if known, but that is another topic entirely). It is unrealistic for Owners to be “in tune” with 500 people in an organization. BUT, it is not unrealistic for each manager to be in tune with 3-7 people, and so on down the line. What seems so simple gets overly complicated and it really does not have to. Thanks for putting things front and center and smacking us in the face (in a great way). Keep it coming!
