The lame excuse reminds me of a CEO and a CFO talking about training at their company. The CEO had promoted training the young future leaders and the CFO was against it due to the cost, when he said to the CEO, “What if we spend all this money on them and they leave?” To which the CEO responded, “What if we don’t, and they stay?” ’nuff said.

Great video Wayne, As leaders we need to show up in the lives of our future leaders. We need to walk the walk, not just talk the talk. I have often said you can fake caring, but you can’t fake showing up. Succession planning requires that we show up with time, training, money, and the commitment to build future leaders and design a strategic hand of to the next generation. Thanks for sharing this.
