Coastal Federal Credit Union to Host Workshops
Raleigh, NC August 2006 - Coastal Federal Credit Union and The Family Business Institute will co-host a workshop specifically created for privately owned and closely held businesses. Wayne Rivers, president and co-founder of The Family Business Institute will be the featured presenter.

The workshop will be held on Wednesday, September 13 and again on Thursday, September 14. Each session runs from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Coastal’s 1000 St. Albans Drive location in Raleigh. The registration fee is $59.00 per person and $29.00 for each additional person from the same company, and includes a catered lunch.

The interactive workshop will focus on the following key topics:
  • What to do, and what to avoid, to become a stronger family and business.
  • Tools for improving family business communications.
  • The latest research findings about family businesses.
  • The correlation between family unity and effective business management practices.
  • Nine barriers to developing an effective exit strategy.
  • The steps necessary for successful intergenerational transition.
  • Why family firms fail at such a drastically high rate.
  • The stark difference between typical and practical succession planning.
  • Low cost and tax efficient exit strategies for senior generation family members.
  • Integrating exit plans with twenty-first century estate and shareholder documentation.
